Where the business was before the website
Mezanin is a private venue in Senjak, at Kozjačka 4: The Room for seminars, trainings and presentations of up to 40 people, and The Lounge for coffee breaks and networking, with a terrace. Equipment and a technician are included in the rental. Whoever organises a seminar chooses a venue by its photos, its location and whether they get an offer fast.
The site existed on WordPress with Elementor and two languages, but Google barely understood it: no page had a description, the titles were defaults that repeated the same phrase, the English pages had Serbian titles, the home page had two main headings and the photos of the room had no descriptions. For searches like "sala za seminare Beograd" (seminar room Belgrade) the site did not appear.
The solution, step by step
Instead of a heavy SEO plugin we built a small plugin of our own that holds the titles and descriptions for every page in both languages, tags for Google (an event venue with address and contact), a sitemap without technical pages and the terms of use excluded from search. The site stayed light, and the English version got proper titles without a paid translation plugin.
The main headings of the pages now carry what people search for: "Sala za seminare, Beograd" (seminar room, Belgrade), "Prostor za kafe pauzu" (coffee break space), "Galerija sale za seminare" (seminar room gallery). We wrote descriptions for 38 photos, fixed the translations and sped the site up with a speed plugin and caching.
Next to the website we also make Instagram Reels filmed in the space itself: a guest walks in, the room is prepared, a lecture, a coffee break. A Reel shows what a photo cannot, what a day in the room looks like.
Technical details
- WordPress with Elementor and TranslatePress, Serbian and English
- Our own lightweight SEO plugin: titles and descriptions per page and language, Open Graph, event venue tags, sitemap
- A speed and caching plugin, descriptions for 38 photos, fixed title translations
- Search Console with the sitemap submitted, a Google Business Profile
We use the same approach on every project: SEO and website speed optimisation and social media management.
What changed
In both languages the site now says clearly what Mezanin is, for how many people and where it is, and Google sees it in the titles, descriptions and tags. The sitemap was submitted to Search Console and the pages were sent for indexing.
The SEO work was finished in October 2026, so we do not have Search Console numbers yet. Once 90 days have passed, a chart of clicks and impressions goes here. Until then we do not publish percentages we cannot show.
What you can apply to your own business
- A site can be beautiful and still invisible to Google. The title, description and main heading of every page are the first thing to check, before any ad.
- A bilingual site is not done when the text is translated. Titles and descriptions for Google have to exist in the second language too, otherwise English pages carry Serbian titles.
- For a space that is rented out, video from the space sells more than text. A 15 second Reel answers "what does it look like in real life" before the organiser asks.
